Franklin prepares for Read Across Vincennes book drive



A teacher from Vincennes' Franklin Elementary School helped spread the word yesterday for a book drive that starts early next month.

Franklin Elementary's Lee Ann Eck spoke about the "Read Across Vincennes" book drive that starts March second. Eck discussed the initiative during yesterday's Breakfast Bandwagon session.

A Washington, Indiana man will serve the next 14 years in prison following his sentencing on federal drug charges. 32 year-old Jeremy Mandabach was sentenced following his guilty plea for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

1 Arrested, Others Suspended In Henderson Cell Video Incident


A Henderson County high school basketball player has been arrested in the recent case involving cell phone video from the boys' locker room being sent out to other students. 18-year old Gavont Baker was taken into custody Sunday on a felony warrant for video voyeurism. VCSC works out spending cut strategy

KC Commissioners take two roof bids under advisement



The Knox County Commissioners have taken two bids under advisement to repair the roof at the Knox County Courthouse. A total of 40 bid inquiries were sent out, but many did not return bids due to the historical renovation required for the Courthouse.

KC Public Library grows E-books collection



The Knox County Library Board has confirmed between 375 and 380 E-Book titles are available for checkout through its Web site. The titles are available through normal library card numbers, and are available for 14-day checkouts.

E-Books coordinator James Kaiser told Board members the E-Books are downloadable to nearly every device, and are available through a three-step checkout process.

KC BZA apporves conditional use for Farbest slaughter house



The Knox County Board of Zoning Appeals has approved a conditional use for a slaughterhouse for Farbest Foods. The slaughterhouse will be part of the Farbest plant to be located in the Industrial Park south of Vincennes on U-S 41.

VPD arrest Vincennes man on Vanderburgh warrant



Vincennes City Police arrested a Vincennes man on a Vanderburgh County warrant yesterday afternoon.

Officers were called to a dispute at the Walgreen's parking lot, and located 22-year-old Joel Nicholas Ray. A warrant search found Ray was wanted on a probation violation warrant out of Vanderburgh County.
