Chris Forde

Chris comes to WTAY/WTYE from DePauw University where he graduated with a degree in Communications and a minor in Geography. He's originally from Decorah, Iowa.  At DePauw, Forde worked for four years at WGRE where he did play-by-play for DePauw Tigers Athletics. He also helped anchor a sports talkshow, worked as a DJ and co-hosted an oldies show. He won several awards for his work from the Associated Press and the Society for Professional Journalists while in college. He's also worked as a DJ at his hometown radio station, KDEC. While in college, Forde also did an internship with WJLA TV in Washington, DC. Since arriving in Robinson, Forde has also contributed to MetroSource, including stints as the fill-in editor for the Illinois Bureau.

Since coming to Crawford County in 1999, Forde has become very active in the community. He's served on the board of directors for Crawford County Crimestoppers and is a co-founder of Leadership Crawford County. He also volunteers with the Crawford County Emergency Management Agency, the Crawford County 911 Board and the Local Emergency Planning Committee.

Outside of work, Forde is an avid collector of sports, Coca-Cola and radio memorabilia. He also enjoys walking, biking, movies and improv comedy.
