States Sue EPA Over Proposed Carbon Rules
A dozen states, including Indiana, are suing the Environmental Protection Agency over its plans to regulate carbon dioxide emissions.
The suit filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, DC challenges what it calls the EPA's "double regulation" of coal-fired power plants.
The states say those plants are regulated under a different part of the Clean Air Act than the one the EPA is using as the basis for its proposed regulations.
The rules are aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired plants.
