Vincennes Imposes Fireworks Restrictions

The Vincennes City Council passed a measure Monday night limiting the dates when fireworks can be shot off in the city to immediately before and on the Fourth of July and on New Year's Eve.

Vincennes Police Chief Dusty Luking says anyone who wants to shoot fireworks outside of the approved dates must get permission from the city.

The new law is the result of numerous complaints about noise and burning debris from fireworks falling on homes.

Councilman Tim Salters voted against the measure saying it will be unenforceable.
