The Indiana Department of Transportation says it will begin work soon to repair portions of State Road 257 south of Washington. INDOT says in September of 2011 a seal coat project was performed on S.R. 257 between Washington and Otwell. Potholes began forming this winter and harsh conditions have taken its toll on the roadway. INDOT crews patched this stretch of road in March of this year. Starting in July, INDOT crews will be pulling up the reflectors in the center of the roadway and patching sections of the highway. In late August or early September crews will perform a fine milling and seal coat operation. This process will repair the sporadic potholing that was developing and the travelling public will have a better surface to drive on.
