The State Ethics Commission will consider a proposed settlement of charges against former State School Superintendent Tony Bennett.
The proposed deal is on the agenda for Thursday‘s scheduled meeting of the commission.
The agenda calls it an "agreed settlement." Jason Barclay, the attorney representing Bennett in the case, confirmed the settlement but said details would not be released until Thursday‘s meeting.
Bennett was accused by the state's Inspector General, David Thomas, of improperly using his state office for work on his unsuccessful re-election campaign in 2012.
