State Trooper & Louisville Couple Injured in I-64 Crash
Indiana State Police say a state trooper and a Louisville, Kentucky couple were injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on I-64 in Posey County.
Trooper Wes Alexander was westbound with his emergency lights activated when for unknown reasons his vehicle left the roadway, crossed the median, and entered the eastbound lane hitting a car driven by 63-year-old Sherri Jones of Louisville.
Jones and her 64-year-old husband John were taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville where they are being treated for serious injuries.
Trooper Alexander is being treated for a non-life threatening head injury at Deaconess Hospital.
The eastbound lanes of I-64 at the Poseyville exit were closed for about four-hours during the crash investigation.
