Passenger Airlifted After Crash

Indiana State Police say an elderly Bloomington woman was airlifted to an Indianapolis Hospital Friday evening following a two vehicle accident on US 40 in Vigo County.

Police say 19-year-old Michael Riddle of Avon was attempting to pull into a bank and turned into the path of an oncoming car driven by 87-year-old Laurette Bellamy of Bloomington.

A passenger in Bellamy's vehicle, 81-year-old Marian Krajewska of Bloomington, was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with serious internal injuries.

Riddle was not injured in the crash.

Bellamy is being treated for non life threatening injuries at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

Police say neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors in the accident.

No citations were issued.
