Indiana gets a D-minus in a new report analyzing how each state supports – or doesn’t support – new parents in terms of such things as leave time and job protection. Vicki Shabo co-authored the report from the National Partnership for Women and Families. She says Indiana has no laws that guarantee job protection or leave for new or expecting parents who work in either the public or private sector. But the state did receive points for laws supporting nursing mothers at work. The report is released to coincide with today’s White House Summit on Working Families.
