Lawrenceville Council OK's 120K Sidewalk Project

The Lawrenceville, Illinois City Council voted Thursday to approve spending $120,000 to extend a sidewalk on James Street from Harper Avenue to the new Lawrenceville High School.

Lawrenceville Mayor Don Wagner says the money has already been budgeted for the project.

Wagner says this is the first of two projects in that area.

He says the second project involves the construction of a new road in the TIF District near the new high school.

The new road is set for construction and completion in 2015.

It will be equipped with both lights and a bike path.
