Federal Grant To Build New Rural Fire Station

The Hutsonville Township Fire Protection District in Crawford County, Illinois is going to receive $350,000 from the federal government to build a new fire station.

Illinois Senator Dick Durbin says the money is coming from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Community Facility Grant program.

Durbin says the money will be used to build a 4,700 square foot facility to replace the current station that is in need of repair and can no longer handle the fire protection district's vehicles and equipment.
