North Knox teacher Rick Marshall says he's removed his name from consideration to fill the vacant 45th District house seat left open by last month's resignation of Kreg Battles of Vincennes. Democratic precinct committee members are faced with finding a replacement to fill the remainder of Battle's term, which ends in December, as well as filling his spot on the November ballot. Marshall announced on his Facebook page he would not seek appointment to the position after prayer and consideration with his family. Marshall was one of two declared candidates seeking appointment to the southwest Indiana house seat. That leaves Terre Haute's Bianca Gambill as the only current candidate seeking appointment. The replacement will be selected during a District 45 Democratic caucus Saturday at Sullivan County Democratic headquarters.
