Daviess, Martin & Knox County Schools Receive Safety Grant Funding
Governor Mike Pence on Wednesday announced more than $9 million in grant funding to more than 250 local schools and school corporations across Indiana through the Secured School Safety Grant Program.
The Indiana Secured School Safety Board approved the grants.
In Daviess County, Washington Community Schools was awarded $50,000 to employ a School Resource Officer.
In Martin County, Loogootee Community Schools was awarded over 42-hundred dollars for equipment while the Shoals Community School Corporation was awarded over 33-thousand dollars for equipment.
In Knox County, the North Knox School Corporation was awarded $50,000 to employ an SRO and for equipment; the South Knox School Corporation was awarded over 40-thousand dollars to employ an SRO, for equipment, and for administration; and the Vincennes Community School Corporation was awarded $50,000 to employ an SRO and for equipment.
