Princeton Woman Reports Her Own DUI Accident

A Princeton woman is facing a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated after she stopped an Oakland City Police officer Friday afternoon to explain she had been in an accident earlier on State Road 64 near County Road 350 East.

Police say 35-year-old Shannon Young told police she did not see a semi she rear-ended due to heavy rain.

The officer smelled alcohol on Young’s breath, gave her a field sobriety test, and then arrested her for OWI.

She was booked into the Gibson County Jail on $650 bond.
