Illinois: Ticket Quota Ban

Illinois lawmakers voted Wednesday to ban police ticket quotas.

The house has joined the senate in passage of legislation that prohibits police departments from setting quotas for the number of traffic tickets officers must write.

Police departments also cannot base an officer’s performance evaluation on the number of tickets they write.

The bill now moves to the governor’s desk for final approval.
