The Indiana Department of Transportation and Milestone Construction held an open house in Monroe City Tuesday night on plans for the State Road 61 restoration project
The $3.5 million dollar project includes rebuilding the roadway and an extensive new storm water drainage system and gutters,.
INDOT's Cher Elliott says after school is out for summer for the South Knox School Corporation, crews will close State Road 61 from the junction of State Road 241 to the junction of State Road 57 in Petersburg.
The road will remain closed until the installation of the large storm drainage system is complete.
