Carnival Workers Arrested for Animal Neglect
Indiana State Police arrested two carnival workers for animal neglect Monday afternoon.
A state trooper found two emaciated miniature horses in a trailer during a traffic stop on US 41 in Sullivan County.
The animals were in poor health, had no water, food, or sufficient air supply.
The Sullivan County Humane Society took the horses to the Sullivan County Animal Shelter for treatment.
21-year-old Stephen Toth of Davie, Florida and 43-year-old Joel Baldwin, listed as homeless, are facing two counts each of Animal Neglect.
In addition to the criminal charges, Toth was cited for various Federal Motor Carrier Safety violations.
The carnival workers are employed by Modern Midways Carnival of Miami, Florida.
