Suspect Charged In Deadly Bank Robbery

Police in downstate Cairo, Illinois have charged a 29-year-old man with gun crimes, but James Watts is also the suspect in Thursday evening's bank robbery that left two bank workers dead and another critically wounded.

Officials say the robber forced his way into the First National Bank after it closed, but when he could not get the bank's cash, shot the employees and stole three purses before fleeing in an employee's car.

Authorities say after a chase that reached 100-miles-an-hour, police captured Watts at a railroad trestle near the Ohio River.
