Contract Awarded for Knox Co. Courthouse Elevator

The Knox County Council has approved a 396-thousand dollar bid for the replacement of the courthouse elevator.

The bid by Kremp Construction of Indianapolis came in about 40-thousand dollars above projections due to unforeseen structural issues and asbestos removal.

In addition, council also approved 326-thousand dollars in architectural fees.

The money to pay for the project will come from the County Option Income Tax.

The project’s tentative completion date is December 15th.
