Judge Orders Indiana’s Personalized Plate Program Reinstated

A judge says the BMV has to reinstate its personalized license plate program.

The BMV suspended the program in July 2013 after the ACLU of Indiana filed a lawsuit challenging what they said was the arbitrary method of approving or denying personalized plates.

The ACLU represented a man from Allen County, whose personalized plate UNHOLY was rejected, and a police officer from Greenfield who applied for a plate that read OINK.
