Ninety-Year-Old Man Sentenced For Drug Running

A 90-year-old man will spend the next three years in prison for trying to transport more than 200 pounds of cocaine from Indiana to Detroit.

Police came across the contraband when they pulled over Leo Sharp along Interstate 94 two years ago.

The World War Two veteran was released to relatives before reporting to federal custody and calls the three-year term a  “death sentence.”

Prosecutors allege that Sharp made more than one million dollars from a Mexican drug cartel for delivering drugs to Detroit on seven occasions.

The Michigan City, Indiana man pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy.
