Drug Take Back Day Saturday
Indiana Sate Police are taking back unwanted prescriptions this Saturday from 10 am to 2 p.m. at State Police Posts across the state.
The State Police and Drug Enforcement Administration will take back pills and syrup medicines no questions asked, including controlled substances. No needles will be collected.
Last fall, the ISP collected over 1,400 pounds of expired and unused medication.
The program is intended to help Hoosiers avert misuse and abuse of prescription drugs. It also prevents health and safety hazards that come with the traditional method of disposal: flushing medicine down the toilet.
The ISP and DEA will safely dispose of medications.
