Pavement Preservation Project Set to Begin

The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to begin chip and sealing nearly 24 miles of State Road 67 and about six miles of State Road 159 in Knox County next week, weather permitting.

Beginning on or after Monday, INDOT maintenance crews will begin a pavement sealing process on S.R. 67 from S.R. 59 in Sandborn to the junction of S.R. 159 in Bicknell.

Crews will complete this work in phases.

The first phase will be from Sandborn to the Edwardsport area.

The second phase is from Edwardsport to Bicknell.

Phase three includes the stretch of S.R. 67 from S.R. 59 in Sandborn to S.R. 54 in Switz City.

It is estimated that the work on S.R. 67 will be complete by Friday, May 9th.

Once all work is complete on S.R. 67 crews will then begin work on S.R. 159 from the junction of S.R. 67 in Bicknell to the junction of S.R. 58 in Freelandville.

That section of roadway is expected to be complete by Thursday, May 15th.

Crews will begin their day around 7:00 a.m. local time and be complete by 5:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting.
