Quinn Hits The Road Touting Mortgage Program
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn made several stops around the state Monday to urge first-time homebuyers to take advantage of the state's new "Welcome home Illinois" program.
The new loan program can provide 75-hundred-dollars in down-payment assistance as well as mortgages with interest rates as low as three-point-75-percent.
The program is aimed at working families, but a Chicago family of three earning 106-thousand-dollars would qualify, as would a Rockford family earning 90-thousand-dollars.
The program is open to first-time buyers, but that also includes anyone who hasn't owned a home for three years.
