Illinois Senate Passes Bill Banning Police Ticket Quotas

Police departments in Illinois wouldn’t be able to set ticket quotas under legislation passed by the Illinois Senate this week.

The bill bans law enforcement agencies from requiring officers to write a certain number of tickets each week or month.

The measure also prohibits police departments from evaluating an officer’s performance based on the number of tickets they write.

It now moves to the Illinois House for a vote.
