A Daviess County Superior Court Judge sentenced an 18-year-old Washington man to 45-years in prison Thursday for the murder of 17-year-old Devan Burris of Washington. Logan Evans pleaded guilty to the charge in February as part of a negotiated plea agreement. Burris was shot in December during a drug deal gone badly on Oak Grove Road near the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Washington. He later died at Daviess Community Hospital. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Lucas Benjamin of Washington was sentenced last month to 30-years in prison in connection with Burris’ death. Benjamin pleaded guilty to charges of Assisting a Criminal and Attempted Dealing in Methamphetamine as part of a negotiated plea agreement.
