Illinois Senate Passes Medical Marijuana Expansion Bill

More people will be able to use medical marijuana under legislation passed by the Illinois Senate Tuesday.

The measure includes epilepsy in the list of diseases and conditions eligible for medical cannabis treatment.

It also lets kids suffering from epilepsy and seizures take a form of marijuana.

It’s an oil derivative that Nicole Gross of Naperville uses to treat her son Chase who had been suffering up to 15-hundred seizures a day.

She says that number has been reduced dramatically.

Gross had to move Chase to Colorado to receive the cannabis oil since Illinois’ new medical marijuana law does not include children.

This new bill allowing kids like chase to receive the treatment passed the senate and now moves to the house.
