Schools get Reprieve on Transportation Cuts

More than 90 Indiana school districts facing transportation funding cuts that threaten their bus service have been given a temporary break by state lawmakers.

The Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette reports Governor Mike Pence signed a measure into law last week that gives a three-year reprieve to districts expected to lose more than 10 percent of their property tax funds under a protected levy law passed two years ago.
