Indiana State Police say a Jasper truck driver was killed Wednesday night in a rollover crash on State Road 56 east of Haysville in Dubois County. Police say 50-year-old Donald Humphrey was westbound when he lost control of his tractor-trailer on the Sendleweck Curve. The truck rolled onto its side and slid near 70 feet off the south side of the highway. A state trooper who came across the crash was unsuccessful in his attempts to revive Humphrey. The truck, owned by Tri-State Live Haul, was loaded with 924 turkeys. Numerous birds were destroyed as a result of the crash. State Road 56 was closed for nearly five hours while crews removed the vehicle and turkeys from the scene.
