The U.S. Attorney for Southern Indiana and the FBI are expanding the investigation and prosecution public corruption in Indiana communities and counties. Numerous criminal complaints and federal grand jury indictments against former and present public officials were filed just this week as a result. Hogsett formed the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Public Integrity Working Group two years ago. Since its creation, 30 public officials have been charged with various crimes committed at the local, state and federal levels. Hogsett says he recognizes the critical role whistleblowers play in prosecutions of public corruption. He urges anyone with information relating to criminal activity to contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office public corruption hotline at (317) 229-2443.
