Martin Co. Accident Injures Five, Driver Intoxicated
Indiana State Police say the combination of an intoxicated driver, a slick roadway, and excessive speed resulted in five people being injured in a one-vehicle accident in Martin County Sunday morning.
Police say 30-year-old Brandy Nobbe of Indianapolis was southbound on US 231 at Truelove Church Road when she lost control of her SUV, ran off the road and hit a ditch and utility pole.
Nobbe, along with her passenger, 39-year-old Angel Royer of Loogootee, and Royer’s three children, ages 2, 10 and 11, were taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Nobbe was admitted due to a fractured spine.
The four other passengers were treated and released.
Nobbe was cited into court on charges of Operating While Intoxicated with a Controlled Substance with Minor Passengers and Speed too Fast for Weather Conditions.
Royer was arrested on Daviess and Spencer County warrants for Check Deception and taken to the Daviess County Jail.
