A Lawrence County, Illinois Sheriff's deputy has been placed on administrative leave without pay following an alleged confrontation with State's Attorney Chris Quick last year.

In a press conference at the Lawrence County Courthouse Friday, Sheriff Russell Adams said Deputy Dennis York was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one count of disorderly conduct.

York was released from the Lawrence County Jail on $750 cash bond.

The Sheriff's Department and the Illinois State police are continuing to investigate the alleged incident.
