VCSC Opposing Elimination of Business Personal Property Tax
The Vincennes Community School Board voted Monday to approve a joint resolution with the city of Vincennes opposing an effort by the Indiana Legislature to eliminate the business personal property tax.
Superintendent Greg Parsley says elimination of the tax would result on the school corporation losing about twenty percent of its property tax revenue.
The tax currently generates about $1 billion for cities and schools.
The House and Senate have approved differing plans for cutting the tax.
