Indiana Schools Given Options to Make Up Snow Days

Indiana schools have choices on how they will make up snow days.

The Department of Education has announced that schools can reschedule holidays, extend the school year without seeking a state waiver, or hold classes on Saturdays.

Schools will also be allowed to extend a school day and seek a conditional waiver when they‘ve made up what equals one day of school.

The state already offered unconditional waivers for two days missed during a January storm.

School corporations that don‘t complete the mandated 180 days are subject to financial penalties.
