Indiana schools have choices on how they will make up snow days. The Department of Education has announced that schools can reschedule holidays, extend the school year without seeking a state waiver, or hold classes on Saturdays. Schools will also be allowed to extend a school day and seek a conditional waiver when they‘ve made up what equals one day of school. The state already offered unconditional waivers for two days missed during a January storm. School corporations that don‘t complete the mandated 180 days are subject to financial penalties.
