Warrick County Woman Sentenced For Bank Fraud
A Boonville woman will serve 21 months in federal prison for stealing nearly 150-thousand dollars from her employer.
42-year-old Cindy McDaniel received the sentence after pleading guilty to bank fraud and filing false tax returns.
McDaniel was employed as a bookkeeper and office manager for Concrete Pavers, Incorporated in Boonville between June of 2009, and July of 2011.
Federal authorities say she used unique user names and passwords to access the company’s bank account, and then deposited the money into her personal checking account and that of her husband.
As a result, about $149,000 earmarked for the purpose of paying employee’s withholding taxes was never properly deposited or claimed on her individual tax returns.
McDaniel was ordered to pay $149,000 in restitution to Concrete Pavers and $29,000 to the Internal Revenue Service.
