Hotel guests at major chains in at least eight states, including Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois, are the latest victims of a credit card data breach.
The hotel management firm White Lodging Services says guests who stayed at certain Marriott, Sheraton and other properties were exposed to theft.
The breach occurred at food and beverage outlets at more than a dozen hotels, including some under the Westin, Renaissance and Radisson names in Indiana, Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Virginia, Florida and Kentucky.
White Lodge said in a statement the breach took place between March 20th and December 16th of last year.
Customers who used their credit and debit cards at the affected outlets during that period are urged to check their statements and consider placing fraud alerts on their credit files.
