Convicted Murderer Captured After Escape From Michigan Prison

A man serving a life sentence for four murders in Michigan more than 20 years ago is back in custody after a 24-hour escape.    Michael David Elliot was apprehended by police in northern Indiana after a vehicle chase last night.

Michigan Department of Corrections Director Dan Heyns [[ hahynz ]] says they will determine what went wrong at the Ionia [[ ahy-OHN-yuh ]] Correctional Facility late Sunday.

Elliot apparently avoided motion detectors while breaking through two fences before abducting a nearby female motorist, who escaped during a stop for gas in Indiana.
