The number of flu deaths in Indiana is rising.
The state health department says eleven more Hoosiers have died from influenza-related illnesses, bringing the total for the season to 30.
The predominant strain this year continues to be the 2009 H1N1 virus.
All flu vaccines available this season are designed to protect against this strain.
State Health Commissioner Dr. William VanNess says the best way to protect yourself and your family from the flu is to get vaccinated.
VanNess says while most people recover from the flu, some people develop complications, which can be serious.
