Knox Co. Parks Board May Consider Golf Course Purchase
The Knox County Parks Board may consider purchasing the former Vincennes Golf Club on Hillcrest Road.
Board President Troy Hinkle says he's received a suggestion the parks department acquire the 120 acre golf course since no bids were received at a recent auction.
Superintendent Rama Sobhani says the board has been looking into buying some land to add to the parks system.
However, he says buying the property would have to be studied very closely to make sure it would not be a drain on the department's finances.
Sobhani stressed this is the first he's heard of the idea and that any discussions are "very preliminary."
Ideas for the park include a dog park, using the cart path as a biking and walking path, and fishing in the ponds.
