Same Sex Marriage Ban Amendment Moves to Full House

Indiana lawmakers on Wednesday took a step closer toward putting a state constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage before voters in November.

The House Elections Committee voted 9-3 to approve a proposed constitutional ban on gay marriage, sending the measure to the House of Representatives for consideration.

Known as HJR-Three, it could go to the House floor as early as today for a second reading.
