North Knox School Board Approves Use of Safe Schools Grant
The North Knox School Board voted Monday night to approve the use of a 100-thousand dollar "Safe Schools" grant made available through the State of Indiana.
The state provided 50-thousand dollars of the funding in a dollar-for-dollar match with the school corporation.
The grant will be used for advanced security, including cameras, locks, and School Resource Officers.
The three S-R-O's -- provided by the Knox County Sheriff's Department - are stationed at North Knox Junior-Senior High School, North Knox Intermediate School, and North Knox Primary School.
Superintendent Darrell Bobe praised the officers' work -- both in school, and mixing with students at extra-curricular school functions.
