Ban on Liquor at State Fair May Be Lifted

Lawmakers are considering lifting a six-decade-long ban on alcohol sales at the Indiana State Fair.

Fair spokesman Andy Klotz says booze has been banned since 1947 when the fairgrounds were trashed with glass bottles after the beer concessions ran out of paper cups.

Klotz says serving alcohol would likely increase the number of visitors because fairgoers mention it every year.
