New Illinois Speed Limit Takes Effect When Signs Posted
Not so fast, just because Illinois' new speed limit law goes into effect on Wednesday, officials say you can't go 70 until the signs say so.
New signs won't even start being posted until January 2nd, and IDOT hopes to have them lining the roadways by the 17th.
However, if you see a 65-mile-an-hour sign, that's the speed limit officers will be enforcing.
The 900 new signs cost the state about 200-thousand dollars.
