State Conservation Officers rescued a man from floodwaters Saturday evening in rural Pike County near Otwell. Pike County's Highway Superintendent heard cries for help while placing road barriers on Country Road 900 East. Conservation officers later found 30-year-old Michael Christmas of Velpen clinging to a bridge abutment. He had been there for about three hours by the time he was rescued. Christmas told authorities he was headed home from work on his four-wheeler when he attempted to drive through floodwaters. When he tried to turn around, his vehicle began to float and he got caught in the current. Christmas was treated for hypothermia at Jasper Memorial Hospital and released.
