Indiana's Unemployment Rate Continues Decline
Indiana's unemployment rate continued its downward trend in November, falling slightly to 7.3 percent, two-tenths percent lower than October.
A new report shows about 230,000 people were looking for jobs last month in Indiana.
That's some 25,000 fewer job seekers than a year ago when the state's unemployment rate was more than a percentage point higher.
State officials say Indiana gained about 25,000 private-sector jobs in November, with the construction and manufacturing sectors among those adding workers.
Indiana's employment rate remains slightly higher than the national rate of 7.0 percent, but lower than its four neighboring states.
