State Board of Education

The State Board of Education is expected to approve and release A-to-F grades for schools today, but Indiana's largest teachers union says the board may also try to undermine the power of the state superintendent.

The agenda for the last board meeting of the year includes several items dealing with operating procedures during board meetings.

Earlier this week, the Indiana State Teachers Association, a strong supporter of Democratic superintendent Glenda Ritz, sent an alert to its members saying Ritz could be stripped of some of her authority as chair of the board.
