Pizza Hut Fires Manager for Refusing To Open On Thanksgiving
A manager at an Elkhart, Indiana Pizza Hut fired for refusing to open on Thanksgiving will be offered his job back, thanks to intervention by the chain's national office.
The manager, Tony Rohr, says he chose to keep the restaurant closed on the holiday so his workers could spend Thanksgiving with their families.
The Pizza Hut has been closed on Thanksgiving in previous years.
Rohr was told to write a resignation letter by the chain's local franchisee, but refused to quit.
Instead, Rohr wrote an angry letter to his employer, calling the mandatory request "greedy" and "immoral."
Though the local franchise has reportedly agreed to rehire Rohr, there has been no word whether he will accept.
