New School Grading Formula to be Decided Today

The State Board of Education plans to decide on a new formula for grading schools today.

The board will consider a series of changes recommended by a bipartisan panel after a grade-changing scandal that cost former Schools Superintendent Tony Bennett his new job in Florida.

The bipartisan group recommended the new formula change how students' test improvements are factored into schools' grades of A to F.
