Veteran's Day

Hoosiers will join Americans all across the United States Monday as we honor our nation‘s veterans.

What began as Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I, officially became known as Veterans‘ Day in the 1950‘s during the Eisenhower Administration.

The date was chosen to memorialize the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month when the armistice was signed to conclude "The War to End all Wars."

Now the celebration honors veterans from all of the nation‘s conflicts over the years.
