One Dead, Two Arrested after Accident on US 50 Near Vincennes

One person is dead, another injured, and two people are under arrest following a three vehicle accident near Vincennes Friday morning.

The Knox County Sheriff’s office says 39-year-old Martia Miley of Saint Petersburg, Florida was westbound on US 50 between the 6th Street exit and the US 50/US 41 split when she rear ended a van driven by Mike Bahr of Vincennes.

Miley’s vehicle then crossed the median and struck head-on an eastbound car driven by 59-year-old Terry Bailey of Carlisle.

Authorities say Bailey died from blunt force trauma.

A passenger in Bailey’s car was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Bahr was not injured.

Police say Miley, who had a blood alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit, was arrested for Criminal Recklessness while Intoxicated Causing Death.

Her passenger, 39-year-old Robert Daniel, also from Saint Petersburg, Florida, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Battery on a Police Officer.

The accident caused US 50 to be closed down for about four hours.
